Good, Simple, and Easy to Use by Rojo
I had looked at different heart rate monitor watches and saw this one had the best ratings for the price range. I didn't want to wait for the delivery so instead I bought a different brand at Walmart for a few dollars more. I was unsatisfied with the other brand and returned it. I bought the Timex on Amazon and I like it much better. It has a more intuitive interface that makes it easy to use. I haven't used it enough to comment any more on it but based on looks, features, ease of use, and price, I give this 4 start.

Ladies Heart Rate Monitor by Marji
I really like this heart rate monitor although I do have to agree with a few of the other comments concerning calories burned, this morning on the treadmill the watch gave me a calorie read out of 349 calories and while the treadmill had 279 calories used. The treadmill reading seemed to be more in line with the workout I had done. The heart rate readings appear to be very accurate and I like being able to see the review that is given at the end of a workout for total time, time in heart rate zone and average heart rate.



I would definitely recommend this heart rate monitor to others. It has also been fun to wear it at work (I wait tables) and see that when we get busy I am often getting a real workout even while I am working.

Very nice timepiece by Tinker
This is a very nice watch. It compares favorably with a Seiko/Tag Heuer/Omega. And, prioritizing accuracy and functionality, it surpasses high end sport/dress watches. It is a slimmer watch than most regarding case thickness, but the diameter is comparable to the turning bevel fake dive watch chronographs. I am replacing two watches: a Seiko chronograph and a Casio Databank 150. This watch fills both those needs and admirably fits the bill for an everyday work watch (I'm a pilot) as well as a dress watch.



It fits well and looks very nice. The analogue hands are a classy look and the digital window is large enough to read and use, without overwhelming the analogue look. It has dual time, alarm, on-hour beeps, stopwatch, day-date and seconds read-out in the digital window, as well as the timesetting and watch management functions. There is not second hand, but the seconds are always visible in the digital window. It will continually display either day-date or digital time (either same time zone or dual time). It has illumination for the entire face including the digital window as well as luminescent hands and numbers. Its weight is heavy enough to feel substantial but not overly heavy. The band is stainless steel along with the face cover. Obviously it is accurate. It resets itself every night according to the clock in Fort Collins. The solar cell face continually keeps the battery charged and seems to work with very little light. This works extremely well and is everything I had hoped it would be. The watch is water resistant, claimed to be good for up to "water-related work and swimming".



On the other hand, this is not a stainless steel case. It is a resin case with stainless front and back covers. Resin is visible from all views, though it blends well with the stainless. I was taken aback at first, but have grown accustomed to it and don't mind. The resin is difficult to see without close inspection. The instruction book is small, though not out of the ordinary for a watch instruction book. The band has a two-button clasp that grasps a post. This seems to work well and holds securely. However, adjusting the band is difficult. It has pins that must be driven out. This is a delicate operation. I chose to take it to a watch shop for adjustment and was advised that many people were ruining this type band by driving the pins out themselves. Further, there is only one clasp adjustment slot. It gives you about a quarter inch of self adjustment.



All in all this is exactly what I was looking for. It has a classic elegance with the analogue face. It has the size and weight of the sport/dress watches but is slim enough to not snag on your sleeve. Where it shines is in utility. It is a true multi-function, highly accurate timepiece that is well laid out and easy to use. I am very satisfied with the watch.

Great watch for the price! by JLM
Really nice-looking watch - a touch more feminine than my last grey/blue Timex Ironman that I received as a gift (that crapped out when I went swimming with it... so much for water resistant to 100m - I didn't even go 10ft and water got it and broke it). Anyways, it took a little getting used to seeing the seconds tick by on the top row, with the day and date showing but not the month, but it was an easy adjustment. The buttons are a little smaller than those on the Ironman so it's good I have small fingers to push them (though I have to push them a couple of times before it takes effect on occasion). The only other thing I wish I could change was the beeping sound that you can't turn off whenever you change mode or do any setting changes. But other than these minor issues, it is really a great watch, and I can't really complain about the price... you can't beat $15! If this one dies, I would definitely buy this one again.

FIrst run with 110 by Mark Garrigan
I run with a group that includes 3 305s and 1 405. Now I've added the 110. It works just like it's big brothers. Keep in mind this watch has a VERY limited feature set. Distance, Time, Pace, and Auto Lap. Connected to satellites fast and stayed connected. Simple to use for someone who doesn't want to wade through menu after menu. I was going to buy the 405 but when I saw this simplified version I knew this would be my first GPS watch. It has only the features I would use on the more expensive ones and you still get all the same data once you sync it with Garmin Connect.



As far as Clever Training is concerned. I highly recommend them. I had a question before ordering and they responded immediately. I ordered on a Friday night well after shipping hours. They shipped it out on Saturday and it was in my mail box on Monday.

I recently purchased this watch for summer vacations. I normally wear citizen eco drive or tissot. The size is great its true ladies size watch, not large at all(it is a little thicker than most ladies watches but not uncomfortable). The band does not stick to your skin as you might think. I am a watch addict/collector. I have written a couple of reviews on Timex watches that I own here on Amazon and revealed that I own gobs of watches. I have at one point or currently own Tag Heuer, Gucci, Skagen, Swatch, Swiss Army, Nike, Tudor, 2 Ironman Timex and 2 Expedition Timex's. What I didn't have, was a Casio G-Shock.



PROS:

- Great rugged look

- Good set of time functions

- Easy to read display

- Comfortable band

- Rated for recreational scuba diving

- Fantastic value

- 2 Year Battery



CONS:

- None, seriously.



I have probably lusted over G-Shock watches for over 2 decades when I first saw one that a relative owned. However, I have very small wrists and always feared it would be too large for me. When I saw the DW9052-1V classic model at Amazon's offered price, I figured I didn't have much to lose.



When I received it, I strapped it on and knew immediately that I had made a great decision. Not only does it look fantastic, with it's rugged good looks, but it is amazingly comfortable. It doesn't look overly big on my wrist and the soft resin band just feels good. The band is fairly thin and forms around my wrist well. I have other watches with resin or rubber straps that are not nearly as comfortable.



The display is easy to read, but might be a tad small for those with poor eyesight. The green illumination is a neat change from all the Indiglo watches I own and makes reading the watch at night a breeze. The DW9052-1V has a good set of time functions, most of which I probably will never use. It is water resistant to 200m, which is twice as deep as any of my Timex watches. It's even rated for recreational scuba diving.



Is there a better watch for under $40? I can't think of any. I was torn between this one and the Casio G-Shock Mudman but honestly, I like the way the Classic version looks better and it's a far better deal. The CR2016 battery is rated for 2 years, though who knows how long ago the battery was inserted initially. You can get a PDF manual for the watch by searching Casio's support site for "Module" 1659 but it is really simple to set. I really love my G-Shock and foresee adding more to my collection in the near future.

Great running watch. low profile, very comfortable, large screen, and all of the functions you would want (split/lap with 50 lab memory) and great night light feature. I've had it for 3 years now, but the band has slowly started falling apart (common problem with this watch) and it finally broke the other day. After 3 years of daily use, I don't think its that big of a deal and am looking to buy the exact same watch. Its hard to beat the looks and functions on this watch for its price, just beware that the band will probably start falling apart after a couple years of daily use.

Great Training Tool by T. Courtney
I purchased this watch one month ago and have been very pleased. If at first you don't understand the instructions can go to YouTube and check out the tutorials some people have been kind enough to make. The only negative is the chest band which is tight on me (48" chest). I researched for months which watch to buy a friend was trying to talk me into a Garmin with GPS but it seemed like overkill. This watch is perfect for those who do multiple sports are serious about improving their conditioning. It is definitely priced right and has a ton of features I am glad I made this choice.

I have recently completed heart rehabilation which lasted 3 months and and now on the maintenance program which required a heart rate monitor. I purchased this watch for that purpose and am completely satisfied with it. It has a lot of good features such as the zone monitor which contains the maximum heart rate. I wear it while doing activities around the house to monitor my heart rate and can note such activities which are good for and count for proper exercise. It is also very beneficial when working out to set the exercise machine to get the heart rate at the proper level for most heart benefit.

I like the stopwatch and timer features.



It is easy to use and the instructions were great.



I wear the watch even without the heart strap and like the accuracy. It looks great and has all the features of a regular watch. I especially like the lamp features which make it easy to read at night.



The strap is pretty tight adjusted all the way out for me but it seems ok. I have a 41-42 inch chest measurement where the strap fits. The strap does need to be snug to detect the heart rate.



Amazon had one of the better prices for this product and it only took a short time to receive it.

I purchased the Timex T5G971 Unisex Sports personal heart rate monitor. I love it. The price was very reasonable and it works great. My husband and daughter both have heart rate monitors that they use when they are at the gym. They paid a higher price for their models, but my model offers more options and is easier to use! Really nice-looking watch - a touch more feminine than my last grey/blue Timex Ironman that I received as a gift (that crapped out when I went swimming with it... so much for water resistant to 100m - I didn't even go 10ft and water got it and broke it). Anyways, it took a little getting used to seeing the seconds tick by on the top row, with the day and date showing but not the month, but it was an easy adjustment. The buttons are a little smaller than those on the Ironman so it's good I have small fingers to push them (though I have to push them a couple of times before it takes effect on occasion). The only other thing I wish I could change was the beeping sound that you can't turn off whenever you change mode or do any setting changes. But other than these minor issues, it is really a great watch, and I can't really complain about the price... you can't beat $15! If this one dies, I would definitely buy this one again.

Screw Down Crowns: Many Invicta watches are equipped with a screw down crown to help prevent water infiltration. This is most common on our Diver models. I had problems with a different Timex model with the band (clip on type) and I was worried that this watch would be the same. Fortunately the band is the standard type and the problem hasn't occurred. The watch itself does everyting I need for repetition training and storing. Good value.

Casio Pathfinder PAW1500Y-1 by Christopher J. Travale
This is my second review, first for the Pathfinder series. I originally had the Casio Pathfinder PAW1500-1V. I lost that watch about 6 months ago. I'm really a fan favorite of the "stealth" look of some of the watches that are out on the market today. I had hoped that a Pathfinder would follow suit, then came along the 1500Y-1. Now, I will say this much...if you you're looking for a watch that is easy to see in EVERY lighting condition (high, low, etc) then this isn't the watch for you due to the negative display. To have a watch with a "stealth" look, you make some concessions, one of which is a display that isn't as easy to read as a positive display. That being said, here are the Pro's/Con's the watch:



Pro's:



1.) ABC watch

2.) 200M WR

3.) 5 Alarms

4.) Timer

5.) Auto EL (can turn on with a flick of the wrist, not ideal though if you're looking to save battery power)

6.) Moon/Tide Graph

7.) Solar Powered (Battery life from fully charged to empty is 5 months)

8.) Atomic (the watch updates itself every night to ensure the correct time is shown)



I like the all black look, which is why I went with this watch.



Con's:



1.) 1.5 second backlight. Doesn't have the updated option (like some G's have now) to increase the backlight time.

2.) Slightly heavier than it's counterparts, or so it seems.

3.) Large watch. If you have a small wrist, then this will look rather large. The upside though is that this is a low profile watch (lower to your wrist), so it evens out to a degree.



Overall, this watch is a nice option to have to use for a variety of different events. I like the stealth, negative display look. If you're a fan of that look, then this is the watch for you. If you're not then its brothers in the 1500 series will suffice.



Ps: If you're looking to change the band on this type of watch (lets say a NATO band), do a search for "PAW-1500 convertors". Then once you have this, you'll be able to switch it out with the band of choice.

If you just want your heart rate monitored, this item is easy and it works. I keep it in my gym bag and slap it on prior to spin class. Makes it easy at a glance for me to keep in my heart rate zone. That's all I wanted or needed - no need for more expensive gadget for just that purpose.
